The Rat's Castle
The ramblings of a 33 year old geek. What do you want for nothing?
About Me

- Name: King Rat
- Location: Ypsilanti, Michigan, United States
I am odd. I love role-playing games and animated movies. I am marrried to Naarah, the cutest girl that I've ever met. Oh yes, and I am a Scottish chauvinist. Yep, we do it better. It's the pants that are holding the rest of you back.

Join the Unitarian Jihad! Or not! Whatever you want...
I was referred to the Unitarian Jihad name generator from the forums at "In The Puddle" and felt moved to share my newfound identity with you all.
I can only hope that this will not interfere with my piratical behaviour in the worship of the Flying Spagetti Monster. He means alot to me in these trying times.

Dorkier than Thou(Geekier, too. Maybe even Nerdier)
I just took the quiz refered to in Carrie's post of 9-16-05 and just thought I'd share the results.
Outcast Genius
73 % Nerd, 56% Geek, 52% Dork
For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.
Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject).
Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.
Yay me! Anyone interested can take the quiz here.
Good stuff. Now let's all get ready for the solstice!

Spam was nibbled away by the Ratangos
I was intrigued to find 5 comments on the posted pictures of out newest furkids. Alas, Evildoers (Evildoers is a registered trademark of the GOP) had posted spam (Spam is a registered trademark of Hormel) on the pictures of my innocent little fuzzbutts. Therefore, I had no choice but to add word verification to comments (sorry) and send my Ratangos (Zoey, Zig-Zag, and Zanzibar) off to nibble the spam off of the post. Hear that Evildoers? Ratties are after you!

New Additions
My lovely wife and I have added two new members to our household this week. Baby Ferrets! This is, of course, in addition to the two older ferrets, three rats, two parakeets, three cockatiels, five lovebirds (plus eggs), an a huge quantity of parrotlets (eleven, I believe). It's a veritible zoo!
We have yet to name the babies - I am calling them Sleepy and Hissy so far. What can I say, they are apt descriptions.
Morgan likes them a great deal :)
Penelope bites them :(
We are taking a few actions calculated to reduce the number of Penny bites recieveds by Sleepy and Hissy. Wish us luck.
